WMF aims to reach out to the needy and underprivileged and vulnerable populations locally and eventually extend our services globally.
Mental health is key to every human being wellness and overall health, and which in many cases is ignored due to the stigma associated with mental illness.
Wholistic Mind Foundation was founded by Dr. Joseph Kimani DNP, PMHNP-BC. Dr. Kimani is also the C.E.O And Founder of Restorative Psych LLC dba Restorative Psych Wellness Center
Dr. Kimani is ANCC Board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Licensed in New Jersey and Arizona. He specializes in family psychiatry and addiction, and has worked extensively with children and adolescents, adults and geriatric patients with psychiatric/mental illnesses. Dr. Kimani works in several facilities and agencies, where he is contracted to treat patients with psychiatric/ mental illness spectrum. He treats patients with schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar spectrum, depression and anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), Social anxiety/phobia, phobias, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), body dysmorphia, eating disorders, children and adults with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) among other disorders. Dr. Kimani also specializes in substance abuse and addiction.
Dr. Kimani is certified in opioid addiction treatment among other addictive behaviors and holds a DEA waiver to prescribe suboxone as the main drug for opioid addiction intervention. He also prescribes and administers Vivitrol injection as an alternative treatment for opioid addiction. Dr. Kimani is also a trained psychotherapist, and besides psychiatric services, he also spends time with patients offering therapeutic counseling.
Dr. Kimani desires to provide free psychiatric treatment and substance abuse treatment for individuals with mental illness, particularly focusing on underprivileged and vulnerable populations. Through these desires, he believes there will be:
